Growing up in Victoria, BC (currently living in San Francisco) I began my health and fitness journey in my early teenage years. Initially, I used fitness as an outlet for my life stresses, but later discovered the many physical and mental benefits from a regular fitness program.
I was seen as a great motivator and example for my family and friends, assisting them with their weight-loss/weight-gain fitness goals. After receiving positive feedback and witnessing dramatic results from those I coached, I decided to obtain my personal training certification and turn my passion for fitness into a rewarding career.
My genuine interest in helping others makes me a popular trainer in the gyms and clinics I train in. Clients connect to me because I have gone through weight-gain and loss, as well as, over-come many hardships.
Following the birth of my 1st daughter, I needed to train my body differently pre and post-natal. After shedding the 70 lbs I had gained during my 1st pregnancy, I better understood the many challenges women face after delivering their baby. Getting the pre-baby body back is a top priority for mothers, while challenged with finding the time and energy to do so. Because I have gone through the challenge of losing 70+ lbs with my 1st daughter and losing 40+ lbs with my second daughter, I can truly understand how it feels to feel out of shape, feel the aches and pain from the additional weight, as well as, the mental challenges of not feeling at one’s best.
I believe in total wellness and there are many aspects to health than just going to a gym. Mind, body and spirit all make up complete health. I believe in training the mind, as much as, training the body. Our mental health gets taxed from all the traumas and daily stresses in life. I have over-come numerous trials and traumatic events, as well as, know the daily stresses of raising children while building my career.
